Profile: Alwar Orphanage We pulled into the dusty drive of Alwar Orphanage, also called Christ World, late one night to find most of the 124 children waiting patiently for us. They had prepared a large meal for us and likely at a huge sacrifice for themselves. As the children showed us around their humble building we came into a room with a sleeping child (left). The girls who cared for her quickly picked her up and proclaimed: "Baby" We would find out the next morning that this "baby" had been dropped off at a local train station still wet with her placenta. She had been taken in, the young girls in Room 14 of the Alwar Orphanage her new parents.
We were touched by the children of Alwar. They needed our love and kindness. They were overjoyed to spend the day playing with us but they cried as we drove away.
Alwar is lucky, they have a clean, large building to shelter these children. With a few hundred dollars we bought some blankets, clothes and toys for all of the children. We gave what extra cash we had to the Pastor and his wife who cared for these children. They probably had the money they needed to feed these children that month, but each day more children like "Baby" arrive and the costs of running Alwar are staggering. Please help the children of Alwar.
