Bundi is Bursting at the Seams
For the 31 children that call Bundi Orphanage home, it is heaven.
When Alex Samuel started Bundi Orphanage in 1980, all he had was a one room building and a cardboard box to sleep on. The first night someone came and threatened his life and told him to leave.
He returned to Dr. Thomas and reported what had happened. Dr. Thomas told him to return to Bundi and complete his work and that "Heaven is Better than Bundi".
With faith he returned and now runs a refuge for the 31 children that will one day grow to be strong leaders themselves.
Our last visit to Bundi was wonderful. We were met by a group of cheerful children and grateful hosts. We were humbled by what has been completed by the Samuel family with such little money.
Alex showed us the plot of land he wants to buy before we left. It will allow him to grow his orphanage to 100 children. He is willing to endure any amount of hardships, even death, for these children.
We were sorry we could not help him this time. Maybe, with the help of a sponsor, Alex can get his new building.
